My Dream Is...

The writer, civil rights advocate, and wife of President Franklin D Roosevelt, Eleanor Roosevelt said: “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of there dreams.”

The truth is that all human beings have dreams. Some even dare to dream awake While others have such big dreams that they seem unreachable, some think that our surroundings and environment is not favorable and wont allow us to achieve anything in life, much less our goals and dreams.
It is here where we can learn from President Abraham Lincoln who declared: “I don’t know who my grandfather was; I’m more interested in knowing who his grandson is.”

Many of us struggle in such a way that every time we make some sort of progress, it seems as though everything turns against us, and we run the risk of falling into a deep depression. But we should learn from those who have accomplished there dreams like Winston Churchill: “Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.”

This makes me feel like accomplishing my dreams is a long and bumpy road and that I may fall sometimes but there is nothing wrong with that, but we must get up and continue down the path. When we make our dreams come true we fulfill our personal needs, as well as the communities. The dreamer feels a sense of completeness when they accomplish there goals and aspirations benefiting their social environment.

One prime example of a dreamer is the story of Joseph, who stood up with everyone against him; even his family didn’t share his dream. The jealousy of his brothers was so, that they even sold him as a slave in Egypt where he endured jail cells, false accusations, persecution, tribulation, but with great character, strong faith in God and with confidence in what he wanted, he managed to become the Pharos number two exercising all of his power, and when he saw his brothers again and he revealed himself to them he said to them with out doubt in his mind: “do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you.” Genesis 45:5. There is much to learn from this young man who happily accomplished his dreams, blessing many communities in return.
